The University Controller’s Office hosts Business Connections Meetings each fiscal year from September to April (no December meeting due to the holidays). During these meetings, we share key financial updates and feature guest presentations on topics requested by the audience. Event dates are posted on the University Controller’s Office website and the Financial Reporting Calendar.

Contracts and Grants
The Office of Contracts and Grants shared an update on the federal shutdown and its effects on university grants. NC State is carefully managing federal award spending. No action is needed unless you receive a stop notice —then please pause activity immediately.
Procurement and Business Services
Procurement and Business Services promoted the upcoming Annual Procurement Meetings and the MarketPlace Expo, offered tips on using statewide term contracts and provided a reminder about Surplus Sales. Card Services updated employees on reconciler training deadlines and provided reminders on using the PC 107: Non-Travel Meal Authorization Form.
University Controller’s Office
The University Controller’s Office clarified accounts receivable processes – covering wire and check handling, collections and write-offs. For more details, please review the Accounts Receivable Manual.
Accounts Payable shared updates to the Payables Guide, including an account code for late fees, voucher pickup instructions and opportunities to volunteer for finance training.
Enterprise Application Services
Enterprise Application Services (EAS) announced the new Financials Approval Title and Worklist Project, which launched on October 20. Please note the Financial System will be unavailable on October 18 and 19 for upgrades. Be on the lookout for a confirmation notice once it’s back online.
