Did you know that University Payroll has implemented changes to protect you? University Payroll in the University Controller’s Office has updated system controls around direct deposit and bank account modifications. While cutoff deadlines remain unchanged, automated guardrails within the MyPack Portal enforce compliance, prevent payroll processing errors, and protect your earnings against phishing and fraud.

To ensure your direct deposit updates take effect for your next scheduled pay period, all changes in MyPack Portal must be submitted by the following cutoff dates:

  • Biweekly Employees: Submit changes at least 10 business days before your target pay date.
  • Monthly Employees: Submit changes by day eight of the current month.

Why These Automated Controls Matter

  1. Payroll Accuracy: Submitting changes outside of the payroll lockout period prevents processing delays and ensures your updates are fully validated and synchronized before the payroll cycle begins. This also allows us to prenote and confirm banking information to ensure payroll data integrity during the disbursement process.
  2. Cybersecurity and Fraud Protection: Last-minute account changes are a primary target for phishing schemes. Strict automated processing windows prevent unauthorized bank account updates from executing before potential security breaches are flagged.
