New Resource: Finance Basics Guide

Written by Arianna Williams.

The University Controller’s Office is proud to announce a new educational resource that we hope will be helpful for current and new business leads. The new Finance Basics Guide is a resource that offers detailed accounting processes that are beneficial for those who are involved in accounting processes but have not received formal accounting training.

Topics include:

  • Basic Accounting Principles
  • Financial Data Reporting
  • Small Purchase Vouchers
  • Chart of Accounts

The guide also provides tutorials on how debits and credits are made, properly recording debits and credit, cash vs. accrual accounting, general ledger and charts of accounts. Additional resources, such as details on other Financial and Wolfpack Reporting systems, can also be found in the new Finance Basics Guide.

The Finance Basics Guide and the Spending Guidelines will be the basis for the upcoming Accounting 101 online training. Stay tuned for more news on this course!

Is there something you would like to include in this resource? Do not hesitate to contact Lori Johnson, University Controller, at lajohnso@ncsu.edu.
