Meet the Financial Reporting Team

Written by Jennifer Brady.

The Financial Reporting Team, a unit within the Controller’s Office, consists of dedicated and professional staff who provide comprehensive and accurate financial information to the university at large, to federal and state governments and to other institutional stakeholders.

Our team is committed to meeting all compliance reporting requirements, providing sound financial data for decision making and supporting university staff and faculty promptly.

The Financial Reporting Team has many responsibilities, most of which can be categorized into the following areas:

  • Reconciliations
  • Annual Financial Statements
  • Debt Management
  • University Tax Compliance

The Financial Reporting Team reconciles the university’s main bank accounts, several campus projects, general revenue bonds and other small banks throughout campus. They research, interpret and implement new Governmental Accounting Standards and they are responsible for a magnitude of year end tasks needed to compile the North Carolina Annual Comprehensive Financial Reporting Package and our North Carolina State University financial statements.

The Financial Reporting Team also manages and oversees the university’s external debt portfolio and internal banks by facilitating for campus groups the financing of large capital projects entailing the issuance of new debts or funding through the internal banks. Finally, the team ensures the university tax compliance with IRS and NC Department of Revenue reporting as well as completing NC State’s annual unrelated business income tax.
