This month, the Contracts and Grants team would like to shine the spotlight on one special member: Kathleen Bradley-Lockhart.
Kathleen has been serving the State of North Carolina for the past 30 years. She began her service at the NC Department of Revenue, Travel Audit unit. After five years, she joined NC State University as the business officer for the College of Textiles. For the past 20 years, Kathleen has served as a fiscal manager and senior fiscal manager for Contracts and Grants.
Her contributions to Contracts and Grants and NC State have been numerous. For years, she has managed complex membership agreements that serve as a critical partnership between research and industry at NC State. Most recently, while serving as the acting associate director for Systems and Compliance, Kathleen led an effort to revolutionize the way salary redistributions are submitted to, and reviewed by, Contracts and Grants. She leveraged Smartsheet to develop and deliver a system infinitely more effective and efficient than emailing PDF documents.
Kathleen has announced her retirement from state service effective August 31, 2023. She will be leaving us to explore opportunities with private universities. Kathleen’s contributions to NC State have been many and will be long-lasting. She will be greatly missed. We wish her well in her “working” retirement.
