Foundations Accounting and Investments (FAI) welcomed three new invaluable team members to our unit this past year. We would like to extend their welcome to the entire Finance Division and invite campus to reach out for assistance from any of our new team members.
Gerardo Granillo
Gerardo has joined the systems team of FAI in his new role as financial compliance auditor. Gerardo has been with the university for almost 15 years; his previous role was assistant director of compliance in the College of Engineering, Office of Research Administration. His new role with FAI will focus on reviewing and approving new financial projects and advancement designations, as well as reviewing gift agreements. With his extensive university knowledge, he will also assist with researching and developing reports, queries and other solutions for internal controls.
Nakita Cooper
Nakita joined the operations team of FAI in her new role as accountant. Nakita previously worked with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, focusing on accounting and financial reporting. Her new role works closely with campus partners on a daily basis as the lead accountant overseeing campus journal entries and IDTs. Additionally, Nakita is responsible for reviewing Lonnie Poole Golf Course accounting activity, recording complex planned giving entries, maintaining foundation asset schedules and reviewing the weekly check run for all foundations and LLCs.
Tori Williams
Tori joined the operations team of FAI in her new role as financial reporting and investment accountant. Tori is a graduate of the NC State Masters of Accounting program and a CPA. Prior to NC State, Tori worked several years in public accounting. Her new role will focus on investment accounting and reporting. Additionally, Tori will be responsible for preparing the financial statements for select university affiliated entities.
