Controller’s Office Updates
Frances Lawrence welcomed Business Connections attendees and announced the Year-End Close Schedule for 2025 will be available at the March meeting. A new training section will now be included at the end of each meeting. Please continue submitting requests and topics for this training.
University Budget Office Updates
Jennifer Coltrane reviewed departmental reorganizations effective July 1, 2025 and provided best practice examples. If your department may require a reorganization, contact Jennifer at jhcoltra@ncsu.edu or 919-515-9230.
Accounts Receivable, General Accounting Updates
Heidi Kozlowski updated the group on journal entries and demonstrated how to copy a journal in PeopleSoft. She also announced the revamp of the Manual Journal Entry Guide. A new online course has been developed, and we are looking for volunteers to assist with the testing process. Volunteers can sign up to assist with testing this and any future finance training at http://go.ncsu.edu/fin-training.
Accounts Payable Updates
Ruthie Fairbank discussed updates from the Travel Center, including travel proxy setup and notifications. Upcoming resources will include the Payables Guide and a refresh of the PO Invoice Processing Guide. A training session on setting up a proxy and entering travel authorizations was also provided.
Procurement and Business Services Updates
Chanelle Corpening shared procurement updates, including PCard training and supplier information management. For vendor address change updates, please contact supplier-onboarding@ncsu.edu.
Office of Enterprise Applications Services Updates
Ron Reed presented the upcoming Financial Updates scheduled for the weekend.
