As you contemplate taking extra time during the holidays and break, keep your leave balances in mind. Employees will certify their annual and sick leave balances as of December 31, 2023 in January.
Employees may carry 240 hours of annual leave over to the next calendar year. Anything over 240 will convert to sick time. Employees with negative balances in either annual or sick leave will have their paycheck charged to make up the difference. More details on leave balances can be found on the HR Benefits page.
Upcoming university holidays and closing dates:
- Thanksgiving: 11/23-11/24
- Winter Break: 12/22-12/31
- New Year’s Holiday: 1/1/24
