In this issue of the Finance Division Newsletter, I would like to highlight a team that is not directly part of Contracts and Grants but without whom Contracts and Grants cannot do its job: campus research administrators. They are the unsung heroes of research administration in a decentralized model. Whether you work at the department level, college level or in a center or institute, your role is critical for successful research administration at NC State.
Collectively, you comprise the Research Support Council (RSC). Individually and collectively, you are the administrators closest to faculty. You are closest to the technical work of the projects you help manage. You are the implementers of university policy and sponsor requirements. Faculty cannot do what they do without you, and central offices cannot manage what we manage without you.
If you are in a college or department research office, take a bow! You are critical to the success of the research enterprise at NC State.
