The University Cashier’s Office holds a quarterly staff meeting to showcase the accomplishments of our team and includes a brief on upcoming and important to-dos and updates regarding student financials. Often incorporated in these meetings are team bonding and strength building exercises to support a communicative and positive work environment.
Our quarterly staff meetings always feature a segment known as “Tell Us Your Story.” During this time, two to three members of the team are highlighted and asked to present and share stories about themselves and where they are from. Martha Neal, Assistant Director of Operations meeting coordinator says:
“I love leading our staff meetings. It is a great opportunity to get away from the office and spend time getting to know each other and building team skills. One of my favorite activities is called, “Tell Us Your Story,” in which selected staff share photos and stories from their lives outside of work. I believe getting to know each other in this way helps us to find common ground and shared interests which in turn helps build stronger relationships in the office.”

It’s clear the goal of these quarterly meetings is not only to keep all staff members on the same page when it comes to office updates, but it also fosters a positive work environment. Many of us enjoy this time together and will continue to look forward to the University Cashier’s Office quarterly staff meetings!
