The NC State University Awards for Excellence program recognizes the accomplishments and achievements of NC State employees. It is the highest honor bestowed upon any non-faculty employees at NC State.
This year, the Finance Division nominated three highly qualified individuals.
- Bill Carlson, Assistant Director of Materials Support, was nominated in the Public Service category. Bill’s nomination statement highlighted his work with Support US Armed Forces (SUSAF), a non-profit organization he founded.
- Vince Rogers, P&BS Restore Material Processor, was recognized in the Customer Service category. Vince’s rare ability to actively listen to his customers and deliver the products and services they need allows him to contribute significantly to the repurposing of electronics at the Procurement & Business Services Restore.
- Maria Brown, Director of the University Cashier Office, was nominated in the Efficiency and Innovation category. Her depth of knowledge and her excellent customer service to both staff and students is unmatched. Maria is great at seeing problems through to resolution, and she is also very diplomatic and kind when working with students who are upset or confused.
The three employees were honored at the Office of Finance and Administration (OFA) award ceremony, which took place on April 27. During this event, Bill and Vince were two among six honorees who were selected to represent OFA at the university level Awards for Excellence ceremony, which took place on June 14.
We are proud to share that both Bill and Vince were selected from a pool of 54 NC State Awards for Excellence honorees to represent NC State at the Governor’s Awards for Excellence, the highest honor a state employee may receive for dedicated service to the State of North Carolina and its residents.
Please join us in congratulating Bill Carlson and Vince Rogers for this incredible accomplishment!
