May 2025: Business Connections Updates

Thank you for joining the final Business Connections meeting of FY25, which took place on 4/10. While meetings pause until FY26, we’ll continue updates via the Business Connections listserv. FY26 meeting dates are now on the FIN Reporting Calendar. FY26 meetings will resume on 9/11. Please refer to the FIN Reporting Dates calendar for FY26 event dates. 

Presentation Materials

Finance Division Education and Communications (FinDEC)

Maria Fister introduced FinDEC, the new Finance Division unit focused on finance-related training and resources. She highlighted new learning tools, acronym guides, newsletter sign-ups and encouraged participation in training tests and the Knowledge Base.

Procurement and Business Services

Chanelle Corpening shared year-end deadlines for requisitions, PCards and equipment trade-ins. She also covered requisition status checks, Supplier IDs and surplus sales updates.

Accounts Payable

Ruthie Fairbanks announced new guides for Payables and PO Invoice Processing, as well as updates on PO Uploads, redaction requirements, travel team news and June close-out timelines.

Accounts Receivable

Misty Wilson provided information on wire/check suspense, EFT forms, AR payment applications and deposit visibility in PeopleSoft. She also previewed the new Accounts Receivable Manual, new training course and revised EFT form.

CBMI Conference 2025

Arianna Williams announced the 2025 CBMI Conference at the University of Kentucky starting July 27. Registration opens this month. Contact alan_porch@ncsu.edu for questions.
