That’s why we developed the Business Officer Academy, a comprehensive program aimed at equipping current and future business officers with the financial skills necessary to excel in their roles. Through a series of self-paced online certification series focused on NC State-specific processes,  participants will gain critical knowledge in areas such as procurement, asset management, payment strategy, supplier onboarding, accounting, internal controls and more. 

This academy is ideal for professionals who oversee, support or are just getting started with business operations, and are looking to deepen their impact, advance their careers and contribute more effectively to their college or division. 

How to Get Started

Registering is easy—simply visit the Business Officer Academy page in the Finance Division Education and Communications website and follow the steps to register for the following certification programs: 

• Certified Departmental Purchasing Representative
• Asset Management Professional
• Payments Professional
• Payments Professional 2
• Finance Professional 1
• Finance Professional 2 (coming soon)

These courses are free of charge and are offered on demand to fit your schedule. Plus, completing each certification earns you a digital badge and a certificate of completion.
