Starting in the Summer of 2023, the University Cashier’s Office made a significant update to the tuition waiver process by transitioning from a paper-based application to a fully online and electronic system. This change has simplified the process for faculty and staff, making it more efficient and accessible.
The results of this transition are already evident. Comparing the number of faculty/staff tuition waivers processed, there was an 11.2% increase from Spring 2023 (697 waivers) to Spring 2024 (775 waivers). According to Charlene Burrell, our tuition waiver specialist, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. She shared, “just about everyone I have spoken with has been very pleased with the new waiver process and ‘no more paper.’”
