October 2026: Our People in the Spotlight
Meet Brent Leidall, Capital Asset Accounting Manager
The University Controller’s Office has promoted Brent Leidall to capital asset accounting manager, effective September 1, 2026.
A seasoned member of the team, Leidall previously served as an asset management accountant, where he handled everything from inventory audits to depreciation tracking. His deep institutional familiarity makes him a natural fit for this leadership role, where he will serve as the functional lead for NC State’s asset subsystem—managing over 17,000 capital assets valued at $2 billion, directing year-end financial reporting and leading compliance operations.
When working remotely, Leidall relies on his official feline support crew, Chili and Nutella, to keep operations running smoothly at home.
Please join us in congratulating Brent on his promotion as he leads our capital asset accounting team!
Meet Tammy Cryder, Assistant Payroll Director
We are pleased to announce the promotion of Tammy Cryder, CPP, to assistant payroll director, effective September 1, 2026.

Since joining NC State in October 2020 as a tax accountant and payroll tax manager, Cryder has been a vital asset to the team. In her new role, she will oversee international compliance and taxation, payroll taxes, salary encumbrances, and partner with the payroll director to manage financial compliance.
Outside the office, Cryder enjoys swimming, playing poker and grabbing a slice from Sir Pizza in High Point.
Congratulations, Tammy!
