March 2026: Business Connections Updates

The University Controller’s Office (UConO) hosts Business Connections Meetings each fiscal year from September to April (no December meeting due to the holidays). During these meetings, we share key financial updates and feature guest presentations on topics requested by the audience. University Budget Office 

The Budget Office reviewed the upcoming departmental (OUC) reorganizations, effective July 1, 2026. Examples were shared, and best practices were highlighted for preparing these changes.

Procurement and Business Services (PBS)

Procurement Services reviewed purchasing thresholds, informal solicitation compliance, computer procurement updates and MarketPlace receiver requirements. Card Services shared updates on card services. Additionally, campus surplus purchases and the upcoming public surplus sales schedule were reviewed.

University Accounts Payable (A/P) Team

The University A/P Team reviewed foreign wire registration updates. Several travel-related items were also discussed, including canceled travel authorizations (TAs), manual updates and training, the new look for Travel Center emails and travel notifications. Additional topics included the travel approval attestation and Clery Act compliance.
