The University Controller’s Office hosts Business Connections Meetings each fiscal year from September to April (no December meeting due to the holidays). During these meetings, we share key financial updates and feature guest presentations on topics requested by the audience. Event dates are posted on the University Controller’s Office website and the Financial Reporting Calendar.

November Meeting Recap
Here is a recap from the November Business Connections meeting.
Accounts Payable (AP)
Accounts Payable shared updates on signature approval requirements, travel policy guidance, duplicate payment reviews, and the upcoming Payables training. Also announced end-of-year payable deadlines and discussed the gift card template—questions can be sent to [email protected]. Additionally, the Mobile Communication Device (MCD) recertification process goes live on December 1, featuring a streamlined certification guide in the MCD Center.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Accounts Receivable reminded departments of the upcoming November and December AR deadlines. Please review the suspense spreadsheet and report any department-related items or expected funds to [email protected].
Payroll
Payroll announced new payroll resources and guides, including the Payroll Guide for Foreign National Taxes and the Payroll Guide for Employees; the Payroll Guide for HR Leads is under development.
The Payroll Office will relocate from Western Services Blvd. to the Administrative Services II building by the end of the calendar year. Campus updates will be shared as the move approaches.
Asset Management
The University Controller’s Office reminded the group that the FY26 Asset Management Inventory Certification process is also underway. Please check your email for instructions.
Procurement and Business Services (PBS)
Procurement and Business Services recapped the annual procurement meeting and shared updates on purchasing thresholds, sourcing tips, contract approvals over $100,000 and informal solicitation compliance. Additional highlights included card services updates, surplus sales returning to departments, public sale dates and the upcoming annual MarketPlace Expo.
Enterprise Applications Services (EAS)
Enterprise Applications Services (EAS) provided updates on Financial Security and Workflow. EAS reviewed a glossary of terms, discussed security challenges and workflow rule updates, and gathered feedback on the new worklist, which continues to be refined based on user input.
