Whether you are planning a trip or processing a travel reimbursement, we want to ensure you are familiar with the revised Travel Manual and are confident in applying its updated guidelines. In this article, a follow-up to the Exciting Updates to the Travel Manual article published last November, we will go over training, resources and other Travel Center enhancements, designed to strengthen your knowledge and ensure compliance with travel policies.

Please note that any travel initiated on or after February 1, 2026, should comply with the revised Travel Manual requirements.

Training and Resources

Over the past three months, our Travel Manual Training Roadshow hosted 13 live webinars, reaching more than 600 participants. Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged in the discussions. 

While these live virtual training sessions have concluded, a variety of resources remain available to support you. Please visit theTravel page for access to the Travel Manual Updates video, travel guidance and other related information.

Travel Center Enhancements

In addition to the updated Travel Manual and training efforts, we have also been working on enhancements to the Travel Center. Travel-related notifications have been reworded for clarity, and more detailed guidance has been provided to help resolve pending items in Travel Reimbursements (TRs).

If you receive a notification indicating your TR request needs attention, follow these steps to restart the review process:

1. Log in to MyPack Portal.
2. Navigate to the Employee Self Service homepage.
3. Select the Travel Center tile.
4. Identify line items labeled as Pending.
5. Select the Comment icon to view specific details that need addressing.
6. Once all issues are resolved, contact University Travel to resume the review.

The University Controller’s Office Travel Team is moving into the next phase of improvements with updates to the Travel Center; we will be hosting small focus group discussions to share initial design ideas and gather campus feedback. While these updates won’t be launched until 2027, early input from key partners is essential in shaping the final plan. The working group is small for now, but we plan to invite more campus partners soon.
