The Fiscal Year 2026 Asset Management (AM) Inventory was generated and sent out to campus AM Coordinators in mid-November. If you’re a new AM Coordinator or would like a refresher on the inventory process, please register for the online Asset Inventory Training. We also recommend referring to the Asset Inventory Manual for step-by-step instructions for completing the annual inventory certification.

Here are some best practices to keep in mind during the annual inventory process:

  • Export your inventory certification to Excel: Excel is a great tool to sort and maneuver your asset listing without modifying the actual inventory certification screen. Having your inventory listed in Excel will allow you to sort it by location, responsible person, or however it benefits you to physically and efficiently view all the items.
  • Have a plan in place to avoid procrastination: Get started with your inventory certification early and complete it. To ensure you locate all necessary items, contact lab managers as soon as possible.
  • Be thorough and accurate when completing your inventory: Providing detailed Coordinator Notes and making sure all identifiable information listed for your assets is correct will make the inventory process easier for everyone.
